Veel mensen kennen mij als eigenaar van Empire INK en Powersounds & Service B.V., maar achter deze bedrijven zit vooral een verhaal van keuzes, discipline, doorzettingsvermogen en persoonlijke groei. Ik geloof dat je een onderneming niet alleen bouwt door hard te werken. Je bouwt eerst aan jezelf.

Mensen vragen mij vaak wanneer ik ondernemer ben geworden. Mijn antwoord is altijd hetzelfde: ik ben het nog steeds aan het worden. Ondernemerschap is geen eindbestemming, maar een voortdurend proces. Iedere dag leer ik, maak ik fouten, neem ik beslissingen en probeer ik een betere ondernemer, leider, partner en vader te zijn dan de dag ervoor.

Na de middelbare school ben ik in dienst gegaan bij Defensie. Daar heb ik geleerd wat discipline, structuur, verantwoordelijkheid en samenwerken werkelijk betekenen. Tot op de dag van vandaag vormen deze waarden de basis van alles wat ik doe.

Vanaf mijn zestiende ben ik samen met Angela. Samen zijn we opgegroeid en hebben we twee prachtige kinderen mogen krijgen. Mijn gezin is mijn grootste trots en motivatie. Tegelijkertijd heeft het ondernemerschap veel van ons gevraagd. Achter ieder succes schuilen offers die mijn gezin samen met mij heeft gedragen.

Succes heeft een prijs. Vriendschappen veranderen, familie begrijpt bepaalde keuzes niet altijd en soms raak je sociaal geïsoleerd doordat je volledig gefocust bent op het bouwen aan je toekomst. Ondernemen betekent voortdurend kiezen tussen tijd, verantwoordelijkheid, gezin en groei. Dat is niet altijd makkelijk, maar het is wel onderdeel van de reis.

Opgroeien in een achterstandswijk in Rotterdam heeft mij geleerd kansen te zien waar anderen vooral problemen zien. Juist die omgeving heeft mij gevormd. Obstakels zie ik als uitdagingen en iedere uitdaging is voor mij een kans om sterker terug te komen.

Door mijn achtergrond heb ik geleerd dat iedereen vanuit een ander startpunt begint. Toch geloof ik dat je altijd kunt kiezen om vooruit te blijven gaan. Ik ben dankbaar dat ik in Nederland ben opgegroeid, een land waar hard werken en verantwoordelijkheid nemen daadwerkelijk nieuwe kansen kunnen creëren.

Empire INK is voor mij veel meer dan alleen een tattoo- en piercingstudio. Het is een plek waar mensen zichzelf mogen zijn, waar talent zich kan ontwikkelen en waar vakmanschap, respect en creativiteit samenkomen.

Powersounds & Service B.V. begon als een bedrijf dat zich richtte op evenementen en is inmiddels uitgegroeid tot een organisatie waarin techniek, logistiek, evenementen en dienstverlening samenkomen. Mijn doel is om mensen volledig te ontzorgen en tegelijkertijd kansen te creëren voor anderen.

Ik geloof dat succes niet wordt bepaald door waar je begint, maar door hoeveel verantwoordelijkheid je neemt voor je eigen leven. Iedere dag krijg je opnieuw de keuze om stil te blijven staan of een stap vooruit te zetten. Ik kies iedere dag opnieuw voor groei.

My name is Alejandro Gomez, I’m 31 years old, and I’m originally from Cancun, Mexico.

I started working and doing my apprenticeship as a body piercer when I was 15 years old. Around four and a half years ago, I made the transition to tattooing full time. I have been around tattoo shops from a very young age and have always been drawn to the art and creativity of tattooing. Graffiti, lettering, script work, and the Chicano scene have always inspired me. Growing up in the hood in Mexico, art was everywhere you looked, and that environment played a big role in shaping my passion for this industry.

My journey as an artist has been shaped by both my own experiences and the people around me. I was fortunate to find my own path early on, but also lucky to learn from friends and colleagues along the way. Having the opportunity to travel and work in different countries has helped me grow as both a person and an artist, while teaching me how to adapt to different environments. I still see myself as an all around artist who is constantly evolving and developing my own style.

I have been tattooing professionally for four and a half years. My strongest styles are Chicano, Realism, Custom Lettering, and Micro Realism.

A lot of my inspiration comes from other artists, but also from cartoons, comics, and movies. I enjoy taking those influences and turning them into unique pieces for my clients.

Hi! Mijn naam is Famke Niemeijer, maar de meeste mensen kennen mij als Naila Tattoos. Ik ben 19 jaar oud en kom uit een klein dorpje in Nissewaard.

Mijn passie voor tatoeëren begon al toen ik 12 jaar was. Vanaf dat moment was ik eigenlijk alleen maar bezig met tekenen, ontwerpen maken en zoveel mogelijk tattoo shops en artiesten volgen. Ik wist toen eigenlijk al dat dit was wat ik later wilde doen. Voor mij voelde het nooit als een fase of hobby, maar echt als mijn roeping.

Mijn ontwikkeling als tattoo artiest gaat eigenlijk nog steeds super goed. Ik ben heel trots op waar ik nu sta, maar ik heb ook nog zoveel doelen en dingen die ik wil leren. Dat is ook juist wat ik zo leuk vind aan dit vak, je bent eigenlijk nooit uitgeleerd en kunt jezelf altijd blijven ontwikkelen.

Ik tatoeëer nu bijna twee jaar als professioneel artiest en ik hoop dit de rest van mijn leven te mogen doen. Mijn favoriete stijlen zijn fine line, ornamental en lettering, maar ik vind traditional en Chicano ook echt geweldig. Ik vind het juist leuk om verschillende stijlen te ontdekken en mezelf daarin uit te dagen.

Mijn grootste inspiratie haal ik uit Denis (Posco Losco Tattoo) en Terry (Tattooire). Twee totaal verschillende artiesten, maar allebei ontzettend goed in wat ze doen. Ik haal veel inspiratie uit hun werk en manier van ontwerpen.

Ik denk dat mijn oog voor detail mij het meest uniek maakt. Ik zie echt de kleinste details, of dat nou in een tattoo, een design of zelfs iemands huid is. Daardoor neem ik graag de tijd om ervoor te zorgen dat alles zo mooi mogelijk wordt.

Als je bij mij in de stoel komt zitten, kun je verwachten dat je met een glimlach wordt ontvangen. Ik vind het belangrijk dat het niet alleen om de tattoo gaat, maar ook om de ervaring eromheen. Mijn naam is Gianni Cristina, ik ben 44 jaar oud en kom oorspronkelijk uit Curaçao.

Mijn reis in de tattoo wereld begon toen ik 18 jaar oud was op Curaçao. In die tijd maakte ik mijn eigen tattoo machines met motortjes uit bestuurbare auto’s. Nadat ik naar Nederland was verhuisd, ben ik naar Londen gegaan. Daar zag een meisje mijn tekeningen en geloofde zij in mijn talent. Zij haalde de tattoo spullen voor mij zodat ik haar kon tatoeëren, en zo is mijn tattoo carrière echt begonnen.

Ik tatoeëer inmiddels al 20 jaar en heb in die tijd veel ervaring opgedaan met verschillende stijlen, technieken en soorten klanten.

Mijn inspiratie haal ik vooral uit mijn fantasie en realistische ideeën. Ik vind het mooi om creatieve concepten om te zetten in tattoos die passen bij de persoon en een eigen verhaal vertellen.

Mijn sterkste stijl is Māori realism, maar eigenlijk ben ik van alle markten thuis en voel ik mij comfortabel in verschillende stijlen. At the time, I was watching a tattoo competition show on television, and I became fascinated by how harshly the judges would critique each tattoo. In my head, I kept thinking, “How difficult can tattooing really be?” I had always been talented in different forms of art, drawing on paper and working with various artistic techniques, so I thought, “It’s just skin, I can do that.”But I quickly discovered that tattooing was far from easy. It requires many fundamental skills to truly master. As time went on, I became frustrated because I couldn’t achieve the results I wanted. Back then, it wasn’t as easy to learn through the internet, and the few people who had knowledge of the craft were very protective of it. Eventually, I stepped away from tattooing for a while.A few years later, around 2018 or 2019, my interest returned and I decided to give it another chance. Since then, I haven’t stopped. I became completely dedicated to learning on my own, practicing every day, and finding every opportunity possible to tattoo. I learned through trial and error, improving with every mistake. There were months where I tattooed for free, calling friends and searching for anyone willing to let me practice, all with the goal of perfecting my technique and eventually dedicating myself 100% to the world of tattooing.In total, I have been involved with tattooing for almost 10 to 11 years.My strongest work is realism, especially black and grey pieces with strong saturation and deep black tones. If I had to choose my favorite subject to tattoo, it would be pet portraits and animal portraits. Hi, ik ben Kelly, 23 jaar en geboren en getogen in Delft. Sinds 2024 ben ik gecertificeerd piercer, maar mijn passie voor het vak gaat veel verder terug.

Mijn eerste oorpiercing kreeg ik toen ik twaalf was. Vanaf dat moment was ik gefascineerd door alles wat erbij kwam kijken. Ik dook volledig in de wereld van piercings: technieken, anatomie, materialen, hygiëne, ik wilde elk detail begrijpen en beheersen. Ik begon zelfs op mezelf te oefenen. Niet alleen om te leren hoe iets werkt, maar vooral waarom. Die nieuwsgierigheid is nooit verdwenen en vormt nog steeds de basis van hoe ik werk.

Na het behalen van mijn certificaat kreeg ik de kans om aan de slag te gaan in een tattoo- en piercingshop. Tijdens die stage begon het echte leerproces. In de praktijk leerde ik werken met verschillende anatomieën, verdiepte ik me in het genezingsproces en verfijnde ik mijn techniek voor het beste resultaat.

Daarna werkte ik in een piercingstudio, waar ik mijn merk Pretty Poked en eigen stijl als piercer verder ontwikkelde. Via social media geef ik een eerlijk kijkje achter de schermen, deel ik mijn werk en informeer ik mensen over van alles wat bij piercings komt kijken. Inmiddels is die community uitgegroeid tot meer dan 17.000 volgers op TikTok.

Nu ben ik werkzaam bij Empire Ink, waar ik een professionele service bied en persoonlijke aandacht centraal staat. Ik vind dat een piercing zetten meer moet zijn dan alleen een een gaatje prikken. In de studio wil ik dat jij je op je gemak voelt en lekker jezelf kunt zijn. Samen zorgen we voor een piercing die niet alleen mooi staat, maar ook perfect bij jou past en goed kan genezen.

Ik ben Jeannette, 37 jaar oud, en afkomstig uit Curaçao.

Sinds maart ben ik leerling piercer bij Empire Ink. Daarvoor heb ik zelfstandig vanuit huis veel ervaring opgedaan met piercen. Sinds maart heb ik de kans gekregen om mijn passie verder professioneel te ontwikkelen en werkelijkheid te laten worden. Inmiddels pierce ik al vier maanden als leerling en blijf ik mezelf iedere dag verder ontwikkelen binnen het vak.

Mijn favoriete piercings om te zetten zijn navelpiercings, oorpiercings in alle vormen, neuspiercings, smileys, tepelpiercings en wenkbrauwpiercings.

Wat mij uniek maakt, is dat ik leergierig, spontaan, vriendelijk, creatief, positief en altijd in voor een grapje ben. Daarnaast ben ik geduldig en zorgzaam, waardoor ik goed kan inspelen op de wensen en gevoelens van mijn klanten. Ik vind het belangrijk dat iedereen zich op zijn gemak voelt tijdens de afspraak.
